Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is scheduled to come out on November 21, 2008 -- the week before Thanksgiving. So with less than 12 months to go, it's time to start getting that swarm of tantalizing pictures. First up isn't so tantalizing however. In fact, there's a decent chance you wouldn't recognize it as a new one -- it's right there, to the right.  the

Get Well Soon Maggie Smith is battling breast cancer, London's Daily Telegraph reports.

"She has had a tumor removed and subsequently completed a course of chemo-therapy," their source said.

The 73-year-old Oscar winner insisted on going ahead with filming her role as Minerva McGonagall in the latest installment of the " Harry Potter" series last month, even as she was undergoing radiation therapy.

DA Newsletter :)

The first point concerns the Birthday Project for Emma.
The box is on its way to GB, where DA Member Rosie W. from The Magical Pen (www.themagicalpen.com ) will put the user submissions into it and then send it to Emma as soon as we were able to set an arrangement to make sure Emma will receive it.
And exactly that's the point . we need the submissions, so this concerns all of you who collect submissions on your site at the moment. Please post news saying that there is just one day remaining to submit something.
Further please put all submissions together which you get until Sunday evening and send them to Rosie. In case somebody drops in a submission after you sent the collection of submissions already, you can send them as well, as long as they aren't print out it could be that we can still add them.
The second point of this newsletter is that we definitely need to bring more life into the DA again because except of the project there is nothing going on at the moment.
We plan as a next step to put a forum open for the public on the DA site with the aim to get a community there, visitors who check the site every day, who vote for the site, etc.
Naturally we will need a community manager than and I'm glad to announce that the new community manager of the DA is nobody else than Courtney aka MsBigBad.
Unfortunately she decided to resign as leader of the graphic committee, so we urgently look for a new one who wants to take this role.
So if you think you could do things like organizing the gallery on the DA site, making some DA graphics and informing the people involved in the committee what to do next, you're absolutely right for the job :) Best WishesThomas

The seventh and final Harry Potter book is going to be split into two films.

Film bosses reckon there's way too much going on in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to be able to squeeze it all into one movie.

Producer David Heyman said: "Unlike every other book, you cannot remove elements of this book."

The news will probably please fans who've been disappointed when key scenes from the books have been left out of other Potter films.

Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the teenage wizard, says splitting the film in two is the only sensible option.

"There have been subplots in the other books that have made them easier to cut - although those cuts were still to the horror of some fans," he told American newspaper, the Los Angeles Times.

"The seventh book doesn't really have any subplots. It's one driving, pounding story from the word go."

But some fans are thought to be angry at the idea as they think film bosses are just trying to make as much cash out of the Potter movies while they still can.

Release dates

Part one of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is expected to be released in November 2010, with the second and final film hitting cinema screens in the summer of 2011.

But the next movie out is Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which is currently being filmed.

J.K. Rowling speaks to Harvard grads
STORY

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - J.K. Rowling extolled the crucial importance of imagination during a speech Thursday at Harvard University's spring commencement.

"We do not need magic to transform our world," she said. The "Harry Potter" author also stressed the benefit of failure, recalling the humiliations of her time in poverty before her career took off with her string of novels about a bespectacled boy wizard.

Before the speech, two members of Harvard's class of 1936 paid tribute to Rowling by carrying brooms during an alumni procession.

President Drew Gilpin Faust also welcomed witches, wizards and Muggles - non-magical people in

Birthday Present for Emma Watson

Sources: http://www.ddsarmy.org

No further submissions will be accepted!

Hi

You all might know about the birthday present which all 47 DA member communities together prepared for Emma Watson.

Her birthday is tomorrow, the keepsake box will reach Great Britain within the next days.

Until yesterday you had the opportunity to submit your birthday greeting for Emma which might have found its way into our keepsake box.

But now the selection procedure starts, which of them will be included into the box. The DA consists of 47 fan communities at the moment, so you can imagine we got plenty of submissions, and naturally we cannot include all of them, so only a strongly limited number will be print and put into the box.

We really want to thank all of you who sent in birthday greetings. It is so great to see how many people from so many different countries visit websites which are members of the DA.
We hope you can understand that we can't use all of them.

Best Wishes

Thomas
